The App shows the current IOTA price and will automatically convert your balance into USD.
It also comes with a handy today widget, which gives you an overview of your IOTA balance and current value on the home screen.
The app won't need your seed to work and it will never ask for it. You only need to provide a valid IOTA address and the app will check the current balance in the tangle. Your addresses are stored locally on your phone and you can delete them any time.
